Question / Help My gpu isnt supported

Yep. Means your GPU doesn't have the full DX10 hardware instruction set. You'll need a different laptop, with a more up to date GPU.

That would require a lot of very, very fine soldering work and likely tens of thousands of dollars.

(Seriously, no. You need a new GPU, which you can't do with a laptop aside from a very few models, and yours isn't one of them. Hardware instruction sets can't be updated, because they're burned into the physical circuits on the chips... they aren't software.)

There is some hardware that supports DirectX 10.0, but not DirectX 10.1.

Second generation i series (my i7-2600) or newer with integrated graphics supports DirectX 10.1, and works fine.

It appears OBS needs DirectX 10.1? The error message might then be misleading if this is the case.

Sam, no; it's that some iGPUs don't support all of the DX10 instruction set. Some of them are missing instructions that OBS needs. It doesn't need 10.1.
