Question / Help My channel keeps buffering for most of the wievers.

Hi!

I'm trying to stream League of Legends but the channel keeps buffering for most wievers, i've got 100/100 connection and have tried some different routers to make it work but nothing seems to help (though, my techincal knowledge is fairly basic)

I'd like to stream with 1.5 downscale (720p) and feel that my hardware should be sufficcient for it to run smooth without a problem

I used to stream without any issues but then started encountering buffering times and some CPU lagg at some certain setting after reinstalling windows at around early december after having streamed smooth for about 5 months straight.

Since im aiming at a career in e-sports it'd be gr8 to have a silky smooth stream working for me as im launching the career xD Any help is greatly appreciated!

Adjusted to Bitrate to 2000 @ 720p 30 FPS, buffering less frequently but it still happens, the stream is stuttering heavily though, not really enjoyable.

May need to go down even further, to 1500kbps; the problem is that apparently under the 'new system', currently all streams for non-partnered streamers are also being served from the San Francisco CDN, at last report. This of course isn't optimal for EU viewers. Really the only thing that can be done at the moment is to lower your bitrate until it stops, or suffer through it.

Again, the problem is between Twitch's server and your viewers.

(Though I have to second the comment about even after it being fixed, 3500 being severe overkill and will cause issues even once they're serving streams from your local CDN, if you're non-partnered; even after it's fixed, sticking to 2000kbps is still recommended.)

Would selecting SF as my server help aswell then? or should i just stick with some EU server selected, and if so, which would be best?
I've heard that Stockholm is shitty and that amsterdam should work betetr even though i live in sweden.

Reduced it to 1200 and the stream is still stuttering heavily with the occasional pause to buffer aswell, the buffering might be on my end when wieving non-partner channels though it seems, not sure though.

No, choosing the SF ingest will do nothing; you should use the closest one to you/the one with best performance/connection stability. The ingest server accepts your stream and passes it to their back-end processing servers that convert it, then send it to the CDN servers in chunks. Viewers download from the CDN servers.

Normally, they should be downloading from a CDN near them. At the moment though, non-partnered streams are apparently ALL going off the San Francisco CDN. There's nothing you can do to change that, it's on Twitch's end.

There's also a difference between buffering (the freeze and spinning circle) and stutter (usually frameskip/duplication/drop). We'd need to see a logfile to be able to diagnose the issue if you're getting jerky video (more than just buffering pauses).

I'm in the same boat and also from Sweden. I've tried "everything", to no success.
I've gone down to 750 bitrate, since thast seem to never freeze at least, and so I'm trying to make a 480p stream look as good as possible.
