Question / Help Multi-stream video capture card

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my question, so please let me know if I should post it elsewhere.

I'm looking for a capture card (Windows compatible, please) that can be recorded simultaneously by multiple programs. I know that there are software based "Web Cam Splitters" that allow for this to happen, but I was hoping I could find a capture card whose driver natively supported this option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Capture cards are usually captured through DirectShow, and DirectShow is what is responsible for the one-place-at-a-time limit, so you're probably going to have a hard time finding a capture card that does it without DIrectShow. And even if you did, it would need a special plugin for OBS to get working.

Interesting. Thank you for the information. Perhaps there exists a card that can show up as multiple hardware devices (even though it's only one "real" stream)?

I've grown disenchanted with software solutions. I'm running this on a server and I don't really want to force the operator to log into the desktop to execute a software to split the cam. I haven't looked at Many Cam in a while, perhaps it can run as a service now. I've been using "VerySoft WebCamSplitter" as an interim solution. It does require that I log in to run it AND it also hiccups every once in a while and the streams drop a few frames (which are replaced with the WebCamSplitter logo).

I'll check out ManyCams right now.
