Looking at the Msi X99S Gaming 9 AC motherboard http://www.msi.com/news/1824.html for a new build. They are touting that it has a , built for msi only, an Avermedia h264 encoding chip and a dedicated streaming engine built in.
Ok..thats the part i get no problems there...
The part i dont get is trying to decipher their claims of the quality of the streaming i should see.
can someone explain what the heck a 1080p live stream at 60mbps quality will look like? I am almost convinced to pull the buy trigger on the board but i have always been told H264 is crappy quality for live streaming Vs x264.
can anyone demystify this spec they are throwing around if its just some marketing department lackie with no idea what they are saying or this 1080p at 60mbps quality is something to get excited about.
World's best onboard hardware streaming solution
MSI introduces the world’s first onboard hardware streaming solution, called Streaming Engine. A dedicated onboard hardware card which delivers even better performance and quality than Intel Quick Sync (which is not supported on the X99 platform), because having superior video quality and streaming performance is essential when sharing gaming activities with the world. Gamers can stream at amazing 1080p 60 Mbps quality using HD H.264 hardware compression.
Professional streaming
Driving Streaming Engine is an AVerMedia encoding chip, designed only for the X99S GAMING 9 AC motherboard delivering ultra-smooth streaming at stunning Full HD video quality at 60 Mbps. Optimized for XSplit Gamecaster, Streaming Engine allows for easy utilization when recording and streaming virtual playgrounds, making sure everyone can enjoy.
