Question / Help Mp4 files not showing video

When I record in obs, I can't open the mp4 files in most video players, nor Camtasia (which I'm using to edit). At least, not the video portion. The sound plays fine, but the video doesn't. It's like I'm listening to a song rather than watching a video.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm very new to recording so I'm pretty unfamiliar with most things. I saw a post that said to enable CFR, but I already have that enabled and I'm still experiencing the same problem.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks :)

Make sure you are also using AAC sound. Well you could try .flv if that will show it to test. You really just need to enable CFR and it will work in most cases. Try using VLC also. I am not sure how good camtasia is at playing back videos.

Post the log file from the OBS session that result in an .mp4 that you can't play. If you can duplicate the problem, capture a short (around one minute) .mp4 to your hard drive, verify that it won't play properly, and then upload it to a file-sharing site like anonfiles, dropbox, mega, etc. Then post the link here so we can see for ourselves. And make sure to post the log file for it as well.

After messing with some settings I can see the video in WMP and VLC. But still not in Camtasia. Though I think that might just be a problem with Camtasia, not quite sure.
