Question / Help Mouse wont click on things

Before I continue, I must let you know that I have searched EXTENSIVELY for an answer to this problem. Not saying the answer doesn't exist, but perhaps my google-fu fails me (or, perhaps the answer doesn't exist).

When using OBS, my mouse begins to lose the ability to click on windows. I seem to be able to use the keyboard, but it still seems a bit limited. If I try to click on anything though, the keyboard stops working as if I've lost focus. It acts as if there is an invisible window over everything stealing my focus.

This seems to only affect some windows, and I can usually make my way around windows although it is very difficult. As I continue using OBS, the effect intensifies until it controls every single window or program open - including the task manager itself. This makes it impossible to close OBS, because I can't click on it either. When it gets this bad, I also can't use my keyboard for control. Sometimes hitting control+alt+del, clicking anywhere on the splash screen, and then hitting return to windows will allow my very next click to go through.

It's all very strange and I have tried removing almost every program I've had installed. If I'm not using OBS, I never have this problem.

Has anyone else ever seen an issue like this? I'm really hoping it's just something simple I've overlooked. I'm not opposed to being stupid if it means I get this fixed! lol

i've decided to try to multi platform beta and see if that might work better for me. so far i've gotten it to record and everything, just need to test if it actually does the same thing. i did not realize it was available for download to test. so far, though i didn't expect it, i think i might be getting a little better performance out of it. i'll see what my further testing reveals.
