Alright, so I'm having lots of issues in general with getting OBS to work to record some gameplay, but my main annoyance is that the cursor (in game) is out of place.
So a little background, I'm playing Company of Heroes 2 on my laptop (Lenovo W520), on a 1080p monitor BUT playing the game at 720p (this is because the game doesn't run as fast/smoothly as I'd like at 1080p.
I'll walk you through a few things and maybe it can help:
I Tried various resolutions using monitor capture and haven't had an issue with scaling or anything so far. Monitor capture seems to do okay.
So I set up a scene and a source (game capture), and set the general video settings of the monitor to 1920x1080, and set no downscale. This causes the screen to have black baorders around it. So, I change the downscale to 720p (remember, the game is playing at 720p). This causes the stream to have a huge black boarder around it, which is annoying. Changing the properties on Game Capture under sources to "stretch to fit" seems to make this go full screen on the stream. Ok great, but now whenever I move the cursor around, I notice it's slightly higher (only vertically, not any horizontal changes) than it is actually appearing in the game. This doesn't have any effect on actual gameplay, it's just odd to me.
I also changed the video settings to a 1280x720 monitor and had no downscaling. When recording and looking at the stream, it's horribly zoomed in on the upper right hand corner. Changing the Game Capture settings to "stretch to fit" also fixes these issues, but the odd cursor issues still persists.
Tl;DR: Monitor is a 1920x1080 screen, gameplay is in 720p. Get weird black boarders around screen (or zoomed in) in any video resolution size unless I tick the "fit to screen". Main issue- Mouse cursor is slightly above where it should be (only in Game Capture).
Any tips or advice? Thanks!
