Question / Help Monitor Capture Not Getting Entire Screen

Hey Guys!

Usually when using OBS I use the current window capture function and it works great! No lag, great size and everything going well. By the way I am recording locally and only saving for the files for all of this.

But recently in an effort to make a tutorial video I found OBS would not capture the bottom of my screen. What this looks like can be found here. ( I apologize for the low quality and windows player bar in the screenshot.

I'm assuming this is an issue with my screen size and compatibility, but I'm not sure how to fix it! Also if anyone knows a way to record the entire screen without the monitors function that would work as well.

I am currently using a 17 inch screen.

Thank you very much!

You either accidentally stretched the source, or your base resolution in video settings does not match the size of your monitor. Right click the source if you wish to manually resize it, though I'm honestly betting it'll be the latter case.

Alright, that makes sense. Now I had it at base resolution by default. Now I have switched it to Monitor.

It seems to have corrected the issue however is there an advantage to having it on base resolution instead of monitor?

Also my base resolution was 1920 x 1200, this is also the same as what my computers monitor says the resolution is. Any idea why is wasn't fit to screen if the resolution was the same? The Aspect Ratio is 8:5, is that incorrect for those dimensions?

Thank you again for all the help!
