Question / Help Monitor Capture goes Black Screen

Hello,

I have downloaded OBS but already encountered a problem. Whenever I try to do a monitor capture it goes on a black screen and does not show my desktop. Everything else works fine like game capture or window capture for that matter but it won't capture my desktop (monitor) for some reason. Has anyone had this problem before? How to fix?

I see everyone having a problem with game capture but I cannot find anything related to monitor capture problem.

Thx in advance,
Logan

I'm having the same issue, capture results in blackscreen, but it's with game capture, not window capture.

OBS>Help>Log Files>Upload last Log File
Copy the link that you will see in a popup message and post it here.
Or select a needed log there before uploading it.

P.S. that works too. I see a laptop here. Make sure that OBS is running on the same video adapter as your game (would be the 880).

my laptop confuses me slightly, i have 2x nvidia in SLI and dont see any on-board adapter in device manager, but i still think maybe there is one? ive tried w/ sli on and off, same result
thanks in advance

On laptops you have to make sure that OBS is running on the same GPU as your source that you try to capture.
With SLI its tricky, there are a lot of guides and workarounds here in the forum. Just search for SLI.
