Question / Help Monitor Capture - Frequent long duration freezes

Hi,
I can't remember when this problem first occurred, however it has lead to me not being able to record or stream properly for a few months. I use monitor capture, as I find it easier to use and it is convenient for swapping in and out of games and clients (for example LOL), and also I have been told monitor capture is just as good as other captures in windows 8. However, the monitor captures the desktop, and then the image will freeze for up to 30 seconds. The strange thing about this is that OBS still captures the mouse and shows scrolling text (for example using SNIPS to show a now playing text) perfectly fine, with no lag at all, it also plays audio perfectly as well. Sometimes OBS will continues to record, however it will not record certain windows that I am using. Can anyone please give any advice. See link of Log below:

Monitor capture and window capture will not hook full screen games. only game capture can hook full screen games.

if you run your game in windowed or windowed no border mode, monitor capture will work.

and no, Monitor capture is still not up to par with game capture in some cases, except in windows 10 which is the only functional mode that doesn't cap in-game fps to below 60.

My Main problem is not recording the game, that is fine as I run it in boarder-less, the main problem is just generally recording as i don't understand why it freezes so often, I get its not as good but when It used to work it worked well, for some reason though now it no longer works

I dont know how it used to work but you have a mobile i5 trying to run monitor capture with multiple frames and since you have switchable graphics on your PC, it might not be using the descrete graphics (nVidia) to powerthe scaling for your encode.

Best practices is to https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/

using a game capture.
