Question / Help Minimum GPU For Recording 1080P Video?

Greetings to all,

I use OBS for recording video - primarily news clips for media outfits like CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and others - what is the minimum GPU needed? More specifically, is an integrated chipset like the Intell 5500 sufficient to do this? I'm currently using a powerful enough machine with a 755m (2 gigs of VRAM), but want a small and lighter machine. Will I be able to do what I currently do with a mid/high-end integrated graphics chip?

technically every current intel hd will be sufficient to do the job, as long as theres no gaming, but it is not really recommended.

since you are talking about a gtx 755m which is notebook grade, i assume you are probably also talking about another notebook with only an intel chip with intel hd graphics. if so keep in mind most "cheap" solutions have low wattage cpus which tend to either suffer the lack of powerful encoding or powerful graphical playback if both is done at the same time
