The problem I get is that when trying to record or stream Minecraft, the game will always crash within a minute or two because of the hook from graphicscapture.dll according to a popup error message from windows.

I'm running Win 7 64-bit, with 64-bit Java 7, and the latest 64-bit version of OBS. I've made sure everything is cleared through my firewall program, and I've tried different versions of OBS to make sure it's a consistent problem. I know another 4 people that are starting to use OBS to stream to Twitch.tv and we've all encountered problems with streaming Minecraft whilst all the other games run a lot better than with other programs.

We'd love to be able to stream Minecraft via OBS as it's quite simply the best program around right now, plus it's open source which is a major bonus for me. Please help!

hmm, not entirely sure what to suggest at the moment. I'll have to do some extensive playi-- er, I mean testing of minecraft with graphics capture to see how it's working. in the mean time, if you're able to turn off aero, you can capture minecraft via window capture that way. though you can't play it fullscreen that way, unfortunately.

Sorry for not replying earlier, this has been one busy month!

Thanks for the advice, turning off Aero does help so I'll be doing that until/unless OBS has more support for the game in the future.

I and others on my channel have streamed Minecraft with no problems. We all use game capture.

Myself I am running WIndows 7 64bit, Java 64bit, OBS 64bit, Aero on, and have no issues at all. Others on my channel have a similar setup, and a few are 32 bit. We all stream it fine with OBS.

Maybe your graphics drivers need to be updated? What graphics card/chipset do you have?

This is weird cause I am currently having the same problem, but the funny thing is, is It never did this before until I updated to the most recent version of OBS (v0.51b). I have tried everything even downgrading back to a older version, with no luck. I even have tried disabling aero and running windows capture mode, and still no luck it crashes minecraft everytime (I use the FTB launcher, w/Direwolf20 pack). At this time I still have no idea what is causing it, I even updated my gfx card and java to the most recent versions. Going to give it another go and if that worked I will let you know.

Still having this problem on 0.51b (w/ latest plugins) on windows 8 64bit. The problem with disabling aero is that under windows 8 it's impossible to disable it. :(

There's a known issue with game capture and minecraft where it will fail to acquire unless minecraft is already loaded and ready to go before OBS starts.

Might want to try the latest test build and see if it changes anything

New person here, but I am having the same problem. I downloaded version 0.51.01 and used it, the problem still persisted.

Does it work if you start Minecraft and get in game first before capturing?

The game always crashes. I get the black screen error too, but that is solved by starting Minecraft before OBS then creating a new game capture and adding Minecraft. The crashes are sometimes instantaneous and other times don't happen for minutes. The crash always happens when I attempt to start the stream or preview the stream. Another note is I am not actually streaming but attempting to record locally.

Hi, I've created a new forum post about my subject but I want to bring it back here as well as I think a similar thing that has happened to the OP is happening to me as well. I've been recording minecraft for not to long and when I play without recording I have no problems. After I begin recording, I get 1 minute to 1 hour of good gameplay and it crashes RANDOMLY and displays Java(TM) Platform Binary SE has stopped working and my only option is to close it in which i then get the "Cant keep Up!" portion with the delayed ticks, My laptop specs are shown in the first image of minecraft in f3 and no other forums are providing me any solution.

I still have the problem. When I preview my stream or when I record my games, such as Minecraft(Java) and PokeMMO(Java), keeps crashing but I can't help it.
