i love OBS and have been using it to livestream my church services fro a while now. However, my useless laptop kept crashing after a few weeks, so we bought what amounts to be a monster gaming computer. my needs are to transfer all my scenes, files, and settings to the new computer. is there a simple way to do that other than file by file? and can i migrate the complex scenes that i have already created and have been usiong?

export? is that a feature inside OBS? or do you mean just copy the OBS folder in windows...
nevermind, i seem to have found it under scene collection. Thanks so much!

One more idea:

in case your media files are in various places and/or in long folder names bound to the user like "C:\Users\falti\Desktop\Media\OBSMedia\Videos" then it gets hard to create that same directory on the new machine, also life gets ugly if you're using multiple folders on the old machine.

So you might consider using my tool to consolidate all media into one single folder before exporting - like this:
  1. Migrate to, say "C:\documents\MyHolyOBSfolder" first - on the old machine
  2. Export the scene collection
  3. Create same folder "C:\documents\MyHolyOBSfolder" on new machine
  4. Copy the folder's content from the old machine into this new directory on the new machine
  5. Import scene collection
  6. Voila!
Hope this saves a lot of you some time ;-)
