Question / Help Microphone way too quiet, have to turn down other audio to 15%

So I just installed OBS, and it was really easy to figure out. BUT the only problem I'm experiencing is, that my microphone doesn't pick up my voice as good as it should. Using communication services like TeamSpeak or Skype, people can hear me loud and clear, but when I record videos with OBS, my voice is extremely quiet. Yes, I can fix the volume level of my microphone by boosting it, but that generates a lot of white noise as well, I don't want that of course. The other option is to turn down the general Audio input to about 15% of it's original volume, but then I have to turn up the volume to the max if I want to watch the video after recording and actually hear something. So... What is wrong? I am using an Astro Gaming A40 HeadSet, with 3.5mm plugs.
p.s.: the noise gate function is also a little iffy. Been playing with it, too, but either it cancels out half of what i say, or it still lets the noise through. In the preview part with the volume switches for the Shut and Open dB levels, the green bar keeps dancing even if i hold my breath, so its quite hard to determine the right settings. Talking doesnt make it move up that far, too... So yea... If anybody has any tips on this issue, I'd be greatful!
p.p.s: I DID use the search function, but couldnt find a thread that looks like it might answer my question.

Ah damn. I figured it out myself. There is an option in Windows to reduce noise. Works like a charm. I could set the mic to boost level 6, without any noise, now general audio and mic audio are perfectly in balance.

Figured it out myself. Sorry for posting this. Windows offers a noise reduction function, which actually works like a charm, at least for me. I found it in the settings for the mic itself. so now everything is perfectly balanced, time to record some videos and maybe start streaming, too :)
