Question / Help Microphone Randomly Cuts Out

Hello all,

as the title says, my microphone will randomly cut out. I thought maybe it was a hardware issue so I purchased a new microphone, as mine was around 5 years old, but the issue did not get resolved. I did a complete fresh install of my OS, drivers, OBS, and a game - Still cuts out. I thought maybe my OC on my gfx card and processor were power starving my USB - still cuts out on default power/oc settings.

It only seems to happen when I'm using OBS - it won't happen in CUBASE, Audacity,Audition, or Vegas.

Here's my log. (Attached because it put me over the 10k limit)

Any help I could get with this would be truly appreciated, as I'm kind of at my wits end here and I have a ton of work to do :(

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Now I'm pretty sure that it's OBS - I recorded audio and video with OBS while recording audio with cubase - OBS cut out randomly while cubase did not. :/

When you say "cuts out", what exactly do you mean? Does it completely turn off for a long time? Or does it stutter? Does it go on and off, or does it turn off until you restart? DOes it take a regular amount of time before it starts?

Shuts off and then comes back on, sometimes mid word - I have the noise gate turned off. Also tried with a different microphone, did the same thing.

It seems to be about 2 seconds or so before the mic comes back on. It isn't consistent as to when it happens.

I'm having this same issue, I would really love to know if there's a resolution? Currently I have to splice down my videos to remove the segments where the mic cuts out, and since I facecam this is difficult. I've also played with the scene buffering time, still cuts out.

I don't know, I haven't seen this happen before. I don't even have any theories at the moment. It sounds almost as though the system itself is muting it. There's no real significant errors or warnings in the log either.
