Microphone picks up noise that I don't want it to

When I was streaming I noticed that even though my discord it muted in OBS you can still hear my friends. I assume that it's because my mic is picking up the sound from my headset and I don't know how to either reduce it's sensitivity or maybe do something else in OBS itself that would fix my issue. Any Windows 10 or OBS advice is greatly appreciated!

Don't just assume your mic is picking up sound, because if it isn't the mic, everything you do is wasting your time, since it will not fix your issue.
Just mute your mic, then check if there is still any feedback. If there is still feedback, it isn't your mic.
Usually, a mic isn't able to pick up sound from a headset except if you turn the headset volume up to the extreme. But it's able to pick up anything that's playing back from your speakers very easily.

A common filter against unwanted background noise is the noise gate filter. For all the audio filters, see:

Just verified that it was a mic issue. Muted discord, unmuted mic heard the echo and when I muted my mic there was nothing to hear. I applied the noise gate filter and it fixed my issue perfectly. Thank you so much!
