I use a headset for my xbox one streaming to twitch.tv. viewers can hear my party and game chat, but not my own voice. How can I capture both without need for splitters? I could use a mic on the pc as well as the one on my xbox?

The easiest way is to have a splitter. Or a mixer (that would give you the control over different inputs and outputs, this thing can solve ALL audio problems for a streamer).
I would never suggest using any kind of software due to heavy sync problems and crappy quality. 1 good mic (proper analog condenser mic etc) would be the best.

I have a pair of A40's, but no mix amp (I bought the xbox one edition awhile ago). How would you recommend setting up the audio? I'm not very knowledgeable with these cords. Can you give me a sort of step by step of what to buy and how to set it up so my stream can hear me and the party/game? I'd like to set it up asap

If you have the 3,5mm connector for the mic, just buy a Y-splitter and run the mic signal into your PC and into the Xbox. If you have a USB headphone - get something new. This is the cheapest solution.
