Question / Help Microphone goes crazy? Weird issue

Hey everyone,

So I recently built a streaming PC and it works great beyond one issue. Randomly as I'm casting the microphone will put off a major hiss and static and nothing will be audible for 20 seconds or so. Not sure if the game itself has the same problem happen. I'm unsure if this is an OBS issue or a hardware problem.

I'm using an AT2020 microphone into a Xenyx502USB mixer. The microphone sounds great and then has random issues. I don't get it! I noticed in OBS the microphone's volume was maxed and I listened in and it was a total wall of noise. I've tried changing it so it encodes to mp3 and still no good. I can't think of anything else to check. Noise gate is not on.
 
Check what your mixer is producing at the time when you get the noise by just plugging your headphones into the mixer and listening to your mic directly. If the signal is clear, check your input on the PC and listen to it (there is an option to listen to your recording devices). If the signal is still clear - then its OBS, if not - check drivers etc.
