Bug Report Microphone and DirectShow errors

Biggest problem is I cannot use the mic at all...I get the 'device is not connected or used in another application with exclusive mode' message

log also says that the Directshow plugin is failing...video has no problems though...

I have attached a log from a quick stream preview

The reason why you get the message from the device as well is because you set your device to use the mic as well and it can't initialize it. Anyway, are you using skype/teamspeak/mumble? If so, then turn them off, turn off exclusive mode for your mic in windows' sound control panel, then restart everything again.

I understand all of that but that wasn't the problem.

I did manage to get the mic to work though. In the settings for Audio I had the recording device 'Stereo Mix' (which is usually hidden and is = to all the audio input to the computer) as the Desktop audio. Unusually enough, the mic does not output to that device despite it preventing the mic from functioning.

Also...I believe the DirectShow plugin was failing also because of the audio settings for my video capture device. I took the audio setting off of the camera.

I haven't experimented with all of the setting combinations. I will post again if I cant find a combination of settings that works. Still want to try the DirectShow Audio Device plugin.
