So I've used OBS and fraps frequently in the past. Suddenly today, my microphone won't work at all. I'm using windows 8, and yes I know to go into the recording sections of sounds and hardware and set the default device. There is only one microphone device, and I know it's functioning, because skype uses it just fine. If I try using Fraps, OBS, or Sound Recorder though, I get nothing but static. It's especially weird, because despite this, if I talk into my mic the little bar under the microphone in OBS that shows you how loud you are goes up and down. But when I open the stream or view highlights, there is no sound at all.
I've not installed any sound programs or hardware recently. It was literally an over night change. Worked perfectly before, and I've not changed a thing. No idea what the problem is. If you have any ideas, let me know.
