Question / Help Mic streaming too low.

Hey guys, so my issue seems to be an old one with no real solved threads.

My mic (I use Siberia V2 Frost Blue headset) is too quiet when I livestream. My mic works fine and clear on skype, and any audio through the headphones is fine, but when I watch my stream, my voice is almost inaudible.

Looking for tips and suggestions to fix it (Please keep in mind I am not overly computer savy).

Yes I am testing that. But I have another question: When I mute my mic on my headset, my OBS says it is still picking up sound, just not from the mic itself... perhaps this has something to do why it is so quiet?
My headset mic is set in my audio tab so... confusion.

Are you using a webcam with a mic? OBS may be recording from that too.

Yes my webcam has a mic built in, though it is not what I have selected in my audio settings. :(

Right, but is it disabled in the webcam source?

Hmmm. Webcam source audio section (in the drop down menu for Audio Input Device) has disable or my headset as the options. It is currently on disable and that's all, no other options selected.

When I mute my mic on my headset, my OBS says it is still picking up sound, just not from the mic itself...

You mean the OBS recording volume indicator (the one with the mic icon) is still moving even when you mute your mic? Does this continue to happen when you remove your webcam as a source?

Are any playback/recording devices in the Windows sound panel active and corresponding to the volume levels you see in OBS? (right click on the speaker icon in your system tray and check the Playback and Recording tabs)

Yes, it still says there is sound with my mic muted and webcam source removed. There is no sound movement in either tab at all, unless I talk with my mic.

In fact, with everything (seemingly) disabled audio wise in OBS (the mic is now grey), there is still a green bar that is jumping around, seeming to say there is still sound from somewhere. Still fiddling around though.

Still have this issue... mic and webcam removed, leaving no possible way for sound to be picked up on OBS, just there is still a green bar moving... please help :(
