Question / Help Mic Input Coming Through Desktop Sound and Mic Input

Hey there.

When I tried streaming today for the first time using OBS, my viewers were experiencing an echo with my voice. When I disabled my mic in OBS and kept talking, they could still hear me through the desktop sound and I'm not sure why. I'm using a Razer Banshee headset and have my mic set to the microphone and my speakers set to the speakers on the headset.

Any suggestions?
 
I've been messing with settings to try and find a solution, but nothing yet. I have figured some things out, though.

1. It only happens when I use the microphone on my headset. If I use the microphone on my webcam, there is no echo.
2. If I unplug my headset and plug it in while previewing the stream, the problem is fixed until I end the preview and start it again. Then my voice is coming through the desktop audio again.
3. I do not have 'Listen to this Device' checked in my sound options, so that cannot be the problem.

I'm starting to get really frustrated. :(
 
Welp, I found the problem. When I set up my capture card as a source, I had my microphone selected as an audio input. Simply disabling that fixed my problem.

Any mods/admins can feel free to lock/remove this thread. Thanks.
