Question / Help Max Bitrate Issue

Uploaded on my Dropbox a 200mb larger file, watched with netBandwidth and my internet connection was costantly at 280/290 KB/s speed.

Lowered to 1600 max bitrate and 300 buffer size, sometimes reach 2500 kb/s

Can you link me a site where i can test my upload test? If is consistent or not.

A while ago people used to recommend this one: http://testmy.net but I'm not sure if its still a good streaming test or not. The best thing to do is find out what works experimentally.

speedtest.net. run it a bunch of times.

Speedtest.net is garbage for determining realistic live streaming capabilities of your internet connection.

Ah, sorry. It seems pretty decent to me in terms of averaging, but I bow to you guys who know better.

The main reasons are that ISPs rig their connections to make speedtest.net give as favorable as possible results, and that speedtest.net is a poor test of sustained upload speed in general, the kind of upload that is done by live streaming instead of by the typical user's file transfer or web browsing.

Ah, yeah, fair. I generally pick something not provided by my ISP. No point testing against something 2 hops away.

In the past, I've uploaded a large file to YouTube and just kept an eye on resource monitor, which is a pretty decent sustained test.
