Question / Help MAC OS X don’t show NDI Source option on OBS after install

Hello community, I have installed OBS Studio (24.0.6 64 bit) on MAC OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

Also, have installed obs-ndi 4.7.0 plugin form github.com.

I have configured Skype with the option "Allow the use of NDI".

But in OBS Studio, when I try to add a scene, I don't have the NDI Source option.

Minimum requirement for 24.x is MacOS 10.12.

Your logfile does not indicate that the NDI plugin is loaded or has been installed. If it had been, it would display in the list of the other loaded .so modules.

If it was there and failed to load, that message would be displayed in the log.

I am having this issue as well. I'm running Catalina 10.15.4, OBS 24.0.6, I did all of the adjustments in Skype, and I downloaded the most recent version of NDI. It just never shows as an option in the sources menu. Any help is immensely appreciated, especially if you can explain like I'm 5 as I'm pulling my hair out over here.

Include a log file if you have a problem: here's how

To upload a log file, go to the Help menu -> Log Files -> Upload current/last log file. The current log file is for the currently active running session. The last log file is for the last time you ran the program. We recommend always including it just in case.

Log should show if your NDI plugin is installed and if so if it is loading, and if not, why not.

Hoping someone can help me here. I do not understand how to read the log or what any of the code / terminology means. But I'm using Catalina and having the same problem.
I'm brand new to using OBS and NDI. But it's been pretty easy to get the hang of.
The NDI plug-in appears to install fine. However, the NDI plug-in does not appear in sources, nor under tools in the menu, as every tutorial has told me should be the case.
I have downloaded OBS onto my MacBook Pro and it works properly. I've downloaded both NDICam and OBS Camera on the iPhone App Store. Both appear to work and to be sending signals but nothing shows up in OBS.

jblay, I may not necessarily have your problem sorted but I'll tell you how I just fixed mine. Before I was downloading the manual run version of NDI on the GitHub page because the pkg file wasn't opening for me. The manual version seems like it works but once you run through it, it doesn't appear in OBS. Every time I tried to open the pkg after downloading, Catalina keep saying that file "Can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software". The work around is download the .pkg, pull it out of your downloads when done and onto the desktop. Hold control and open it. Run the normal install, then open OBS and it should be there afterwards.

You have not installed the OBS-NDI module. If you had, it would either appear here in the list of loaded modules, or an error would display showing why the module could not be loaded.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. I'm running Mac OS 10.15.5, I installed the plug-in three times, I've restarted, but the option of "NDI Source" doesn't come up in the options when I try to add a Source in the menu. ??

Hi nagger and others. Were you able to figure this out? I am having the same problem. I did move the driver onto my desktop and installed it from there. I have NDI Virtual input and monitor installed on this new MacBook Pro 2020.

Hello! I am having the same problem. I'm running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6, I installed and deleted the plug-in three times, I've restarted... I switch "NDI ON" on Skype.
But NDI sources don't appear.
I have a "NDI Video" through "video capture device" source, but only let me show unique cam in OBS, or duplicated (I have to cams).

Tengo un problema similar

Cuando inicio OBS y quiero agregar un dispositivo de captura de video, no tengo ninguna opción, solo una y esa es la cámara.

¿Alguien podría ayudarme?
