Question / Help M+KB Overlay while streaming FPS on 1 monitor

So I just got a M+KB overlay to show keystrokes while playing FPS'. The .exe is called Mouse-Keyboard-highlights.exe, not sure if that's the official name or what. ApVkp is what it shows up as in task manager.

Anyway, OBS is set up to stream to twitch, works fine, so no issues there. Playing games full screen, OBS set to game capture. I set it up to capture ApVkp as a window capture.

Is there a way to have OBS capture both a game and ApVkp with only one monitor? My friend who linked ApVkp to me said he only knew how to do it given 2 monitors.

No, not without the game set to fullscreen windowed. When going fullscreen, the game takes over the display; why it minimizes when you alt-tab, handing it back to the OS. So all of the other windows stop being rendered, and there's nothing for OBS to capture.

Really though, two monitors should be considered basic livestreaming hardware.

So, you're saying if I set game full screen windowed, and set it in OBS as a window capture, that I can capture both even with only one monitor?

Yes, so long as you don't minimize the KB+M window, it will continue being rendered in the background, and can be captured with Window Capture. If you're on Windows 7, make sure Aero is ON (it can't be turned off in 8 or 10).

Really though, again. Two monitors should be considered basic equipment.
