Question / Help Lower FPS while in Game

Once I launch a game, the game is low FPS. The game isn't low FPS when I don't run OBS. I've seen other streams that were lower quality than mine, meaning the picture was a little less clear. Is it possible that I would need to lower the quality of my stream to get better performance while I'm playing? How would I go about doing this?

I see other people broadcasting sometimes and their stream is a lot less clear. I would imagine that they're setting something up so that their stream is less clear for performance reasons.

I changed the bitrate and buffer to 1800,Quick Sync 7 for best speed, 640x480. It helped a lot, cpu usage is at 20 percent as opposed to what it was before, 60, at the defaults. But the clarity of the stream is the same. I'd like to experiment with lowering clarity. As I said before, there are other streams where the clarity of the screen is lower.

As you already figured out if the CPU usage is high it will Impact the game, even if the Total CPU Usage is under 90% thats because the actual total CPU Usage is practically lower than the Taskmanager (or any other tool like HWinfo) indicates.

There are several ways to avoid that kind of impact:

Quick Sync as you trying right now.

Nvenc the GPU Video Encoder.

Set x264 Preset to from veryfast to superfast OR lower crf quality OR both.

All will impact your stream quality in some way. Noticeable or not depends on settings.

pls only edit your post and dont post several times in a row!
