Hello,

I recently built a new computer, and was experimenting with doing a local recording of Minecraft with obs. I am lagging a lot in game even at the worst settings, and my footage was very low quality. I was able to remove the in game lag but only by using the Superfast x264 preset which made the quality even worse. I was hoping someone could recommend some settings, because i feel like my computer should be able to handle recording as it's specs are pretty good.

Specs:

CPU: i5 4690 Quad Core
RAM: 4 Gbs
GPU: Intel HD 4600

I know the ram is low and the gpu are bad, but think i should still be able to record until i have a chance to upgrade my system.

The GPU is the problem. You're going to need a dedicated GPU if you ever want any hopes of having a good time while playing. You can also try quicksync to encode instead of x264, but you're far far far far far far far better off simply upgrading your GPU and also your RAM.

Not really. Intel iGPUs are not very good and are only designed for light loads and light gaming. Streaming stresses them in ways they're not meant to be.
