Hello there, trying to stream StarCraft 2 here: http://www.twitch.tv/misonek

It seems like FPS on the stream are pretty lazy/low. I tried many different settings in OBS. Nothing seems to work as I would like to. Maybe a little bit helped that 1) I lowered graphic settings ingame 2) switched from Prague server to Frankfurt even though Im from Prague, Czech Republic.

My computer: Intel Core i5-3350P Socket H2 (LGA1155) 4 cores 3.30GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 - 896 MBytes of GDDR3 SDRAM, Motherboard Model: GIGABYTE B75-D3V, RAM: 2x 4GB Kingston SDRAM DDR3, BENQ 144Hz 1920x1080 monitor.

Software: Windows 8, SC2: HoTS, OBS (currently >> Quality Balance 7, Max Bitrate 2500, Buffer Size 2800, Resolution Downscale 1.50 (1280x720), FPS 60, x264 CPU Preset is ultrafast).

My connection: 40.45 Mbps / 4.07 Mbps >> http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3445200856

Current graphic settings for SC2: Fullscreen, 1920x1080, everything is medium expect 'lighting' (low), reflections (off), models (low).

So all in all I think my connection is enough. I thought my computer is also strong enough. Now, do you think it's still normal and possible my FPS (on the stream, not ingame) are low ? Or is it strange ? What should I try to higher FPS on my stream ?

Thank you ! MSN

Unfortunately, that log does not contain the necessary information. Look for a log that starts off with listing your PC specs. It should be rather lengthy.

Your GPU is the problem here. The GTX 200 series are notorious for being slow at the kind of functions OBS needs to use. You might be able to alleviate some of the issue by going down to 30fps, and consider downscaling more, but your GPU is the big bottleneck, here.

@Morphid, I would need an explanation how Quick Sync alleviates the stress OBS puts on the GPU when it grabs the frames off of it? This still needs to be done. With QuickSync you can only move the stress of your CPU to the integrated GPU. And as Sapiens mentioned, the CPU is not the bottleneck unfortunately.

Damn :( Strange .. I thought the main power for the graphics of StarCraft2 is the CPU not a graphic card ... but maybe the stream it self need good GPU instead of CPU for those FPS Im looking for ?
