Question / Help Losing Connection and Dropped Frames jumping

I have streamed to Twitch with OBS for MANY hours. Today, I have had technical issues where OBS keeps disconnecting and having a huge jump in Dropped frames (I usually have 0 dropped frames).

I connects for about a minute, then disconnects, reconnects and repeats. I can't get it to stay steady. I have reset my Twitch Key, I have lowered bitrate, I have changed twitch servers, I have tried older versions of OBS. I just can't find the issue.

The log analyzer just told me what I already knew, the frames were dropping at an alarming rate. I do use wireless, but like I said I have streamed for many many hours so I don't think that is the issue here at all.

Thanks!
Tarrington

Please try different servers. Dropped frames are always a result of bad or inadequate network conditions. Alternatively try lowering your bit rate.

If you get the same result when using other servers as well, this is an issue with your connection in general, otherwise the server you were using before might be overloaded, or your connection to it is bad. Network conditions often change temporarily, perhaps due to network issues between you and your destination, snakes, or maybe even ghosts.

Then it sounds like it might be a more general issue with your network connection. Do you get okay results from Shaperprobe? What if you test to a different service like hitbox.tv?

You need to contact your ISP as your connection seems faulty. A working connection should have no packet loss.

What else would it affect if that was the issue? Because I haven't changed anything, and I have streamed for the past 2 weeks for 5-6 hours a day with no issues.

My internet speed test showed the same results is usually does through my router, and with a direct connection.

Packet loss can potentially affect any sort of application that needs internet access, but it's generally most noticeable when doing things like playing online games and streaming. The implication here isn't that you changed something to cause the problem, it's that the problem is related to the service your ISP is providing, and you should contact them for assistance.
