Question / Help Local Streaming using home server

Hey

I am getting a bit baffled. I think it is possible I just don't know how to do it. What I want is....

I have two computers (one for me and one for my gf) and I basically want the option to show my gf's gameplay without a capture card? Is it possible? Can someone point me in the right direction? sorry I am just massively confused right now. It seems with something like a virtual server or something will be possible but the settings and downloads just seem insane, I pref don't want to add any hardware. Thoughts?

If this is possible, can someone give me the how in the most basic terms?

Thanks.

I suppose you could set up an nginx RTMP server for her to stream to locally and then add that to your own stream with the video source plugin but it would be a nightmare to sync up. A capture card would be the ideal solution.

I don't understand that guide, it says I need a server box, which I don't have access too? I tried the virtual hosting thing for a server but the links are dead or I am a numpty and can't do it.

Its a pretty advanced guide, and you're trying to do something even more complicated than that. So you probably need a video capture device.

This will be easier to do in later versions without the need for an actual server. However, the current version of OBS doesn't have this ability.

does that mean you're going to have built in NGINX RTMP server functionality in obs? or something else

I didn't mean an nginx RTMP server - I just meant a RTMP server output plugin most likely.

It's no problem, it'll eventually have these features. See you around.
