Hi,

I have some problems with my recordings, when i watch them locally on my computer they look great but when i upload them to youtube they looks really blurry and "blocky".

It works fine with other settings but not with these (https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/)

Uploaded raw footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTR9diQdhFU&list=UUA9z6LLYcqKuOUM3qnBotBA
The rest of my videos named test are rendered ones.

Any ideas on what i am doing wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong, Youtube transcodes all uploads. You don't get to watch your raw footage, you watch a re-encoded version.

Since you haven't provided any information about the settings you're talking about other than linking to the local recording guide, I guess...use the other settings? Or tell us what they are at least.

The other settings are the ones i found on every other guide, basically the default settings but with a higher bitrate

That's not really usable information, so I guess if recording at a higher bitrate works better then just do that instead?

hi boozfob. On my youtube videos i noticed that a lot of videos switch quality during playback. Most of the time it happens at the 15 to 20 second mark. The quality of the youtube video is nowhere near that of my raw though.
You video might be too short for higher quality to kick in.
At what bitrate did you record the sample video by the way?

I dunno how to explain really.

Lets invent a quality scale from 1-10
The videos i get when following the guide are 9,5/10 when i watch locally but 2/10 when i watch them on youtube.
If i just use some other settings (Which i dont have anymore, but i know i lost like 6-7 FPS with them), then i get like a 7-8/10 locally, but a 6-7/10 on youtube.

This is recorded with the other settings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iNx4pShvsg&list=UUA9z6LLYcqKuOUM3qnBotBA

The source for that one looks worse but on youtube it looks better.
It doesnt make any sense to me

There's nothing out of the ordinary as far as i can tell. Did you have success with your videos yet? Sorry i didn't reply right away.

I didnt get it to work any better, so i made another recording profile.. This looks a hundred times better on youtube but the source still looks better for the other one. :/

New vid with other settings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoiYyJuAtH8

I would still like to get the other settings to work good though..
