Question / Help local recording stuttering

i have been trying for a couple of hours to get a recording to work, watched youtube videos, used the guides on the forums
i cannot record a game without the recording stuttering (not the game)

for instance when i tried to record WoW, whenever i looked into the sky it went smoothly at 60 fps, but when i looked down at the floor, the recording was at 5 fps

Post the complete log file (the one you posted is incomplete) and get it from a recording of at least five minutes of high action content. Change your preset to High Performance (HP). Why did you set LLHQ?

i hope this is the full log now
i had the preset on automatic (do you mean the "NVENC preset"?)

this is what the recording looks like
https://youtu.be/ko4tm2NofwQ
the game ran smoothly at 60 fps on ultra

Set the key interval to auto. Set the bitrate to 30000. Make sure your Nvidia drivers are up today. Not sure why but the performance is far worse than I would expect. Maybe the laptop GPU can't do NVEnc properly.

the quality of the video is great now, it is still stuttering though

do you have any other suggestions?
thank you for your time

Try recording at a lower framerate, like 30fps instead of 60fps. Other than that I'm pretty much out of ideas. NVEnc normally works pretty easily when set to the right preset, but most people aren't using the laptop versions.

i have just realised that this stuttering only occurs with world of warcraft
i tried it with minecraft and it worked perfectly...

I haven't played WoW in over six years, but back in the day it was super easy to record with FRAPS, easier than most other games. So this really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Are all your drivers up to date, did I ask that already?
