Question / Help Local Recording Issues

So i'm trying to get high quality local recordings of my games.
My CPU: AMD 8350 GPU Sapphire R9 280 Dual X

OBS Log: http://pastebin.com/SCUpPQNm
Sample Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkOOIca7j8Q

I know that i wont be able to play and record most new games at 1080.
I do think i should be able to handle a high quality 720p local recording.
I have looked at a few guides and tried different settings but nothing seems
to give me the true high quality of video i'm looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ultrafast doesn't seem to lose much quality when compared to very or super fast in what I've seen

What i ended up doing was recording at 1080 and changing to superfast with a crf of 15 and it looks amazing!

Thank you so much!

Just remember to use x264 with the slowest preset you can tolerate when doing your final encode in whatever software you use for that (like ffmpeg or handbrake).

I always re-encode my videos after recording to optimize them. By using a slower-sounding preset after recording but before uploading to youtube, I'm able to reduce my recordings' filesizes quite a bit.

If the bitrate is less than 30Mb/s or so and you don't want to do any editing, its probably best to just upload to YouTube without re-encoding, as long as you don't mind the time it takes to upload it.

That said, if the quality "pulses" or there's compression artifacts, then you probably need to adjust OBS to suit YouTube's silly keyframe interval or b-frame recommendations, or re-encode as Harold suggests with these in mind.
