Question / Help Live Mic Noise Cancellation

Is there any way to have live microphone noise cancellation. In Audacity, after you record you select a part where its silent but on and then remove that from the rest of the recording. Is there a program to do this for your mic on Windows 7? Thanks!

OBS has a noise gate that may help you cut some unwanted noise. If this is not enough maybe you need a better microphone, if you are doing voice only the microphones of 'cardioid' type are recommended

Ill try out the noise gate! My mic is pretty bad tbh.. using the mic on Turtlebeach x11 headset lol. Going to get Astro a40 soon so I will use that microphone. Thank you for the response!

If you want the best audio don't rely in gaming headsets, try to get a standalone microphone instead. I have a Blue Yeti and definitely would recommend it

I use 3 filters in Adobe Audition for live noise canceling (specific order in which they work is also important, for my results at least). it works very well. I was thinking of making a video-tutorial about it.

For reference - I use Corsair Vengeance 1400 and if you know how horrible the mic is by default, you can compare it to my voice from my stream (not perfect, but great improvement, I think):
twitch.tv/vulkkswtor
(or any other video/highlight)

P.S.
I took the idea from this video, but later added a couple more filters and tweaks from myself. Using ONLY this one filter will clear the sound a bit, but will also make it quieter. Also, using this software will throw another couple %'s load on your CPU.

I'd like to see that video.

There are several software programs that will do noise cancellation in real-time. As you can see in the wiki for noise reduction " Special purpose noise reduction software programs include Sony Creative Noise Reduction, SoliCall Pro, Voxengo Redunoise and X-OOM Music Clean. "

(Using VAC & Adobe Audition)

This is with not just the most popular Adaptive Noise Reduction, but also my personal simple tweaks.
