Okay - there's no direct non-OBS support area to post this - I'm not having an OBS issue directly, just a Avermedia Live Gamer HD issue. It's late and I don't want to open my PC to look at manufacturer numbers etc. required to fill out a 'ticket' at the Avermedia webpage. And they make you give out personal info (like phone number), which I do not like since I use a pre paid phone. Plus, their forums are not working - otherwise I'd post this there. :- /
Now that that's out of the way, to my problem.
I've finally finished getting the parts for my streaming PC. Audio is working with the mixer, mic, video (to an extent) as well. The issue I'm having is getting the live gamer hd to actually output to 60fps. Yes, I know that you cannot do 1080p @ 60fps, so I have it set to 720p @ 60fps. When first toying around with it, I noticed that it appeared to still be 30fps on my streaming screen, both in the OBS preview as well as the RECentral software.
Mind you I have not actually streamed again with the new streaming PC yet, mostly just testing right now, but It's perplexed me for days.
The only solution I've found was just a bit ago by pure accident. I run all games (and of course Windows) at 1080p with my gaming PC and for the heck of it I lowered the resolution of a random game to 720p full screen to match the live gamer resolution - and what do you know - it worked. Things look smooth as I thought they would in the first place.
Just because I want to output/stream at 720p, doesn't mean I want to play my games that way too, haha. Has anyone else had this problem? I've seen many streamers using the card and having what appears to be smooth fps, even if their games are set to 1080p. Am I missing something? There aren't many settings to mess with in the RECentral program, and I've messed with just about them all.
Oh, streaming PC specs are more than enough as far as I know. i7 3770k (not overclocked), 16gb ram. The only thing I can think to add would be an inexpensive videocard since the only one I have to spare is a bit overkill (Radeon 7950HD). I wouldn't think that the issue would be a lack of a dedicated videocard - but would it cause this?
Apologies for the loooong rant (I'm tired, it's 3 am, haha), and I'd appreciate any help/suggestions someone could give me. Again, I apologize that this isn't directly OBS related. As it stands, it's working flawlessly for the dual PC setup - no problems whatsoever.
Thanks again!
