So i've been using the Elgato HD60 for about 9 months now and i've finally had it with the audio/video sync issues and decided to get a new capture card. i purchase the AVerMedia LGX GC550 as i wanted something top of the line, capable of connecting over USB3.0 and something i could try to use the 64bit ver of OBS with to take full advantage of my system resources. however, when using either version of OBS (32 or 64bit) the capture card stops working and leaves a frozen image on the display.
when i use the REcentral software that came with the drivers or even when i use xsplit (ewww xsplit) it works perfectly fine. i have the latest drivers for the capture card, the REcentral software and OBS. i contacted AVerMedia and they have no clue what their doing over there. made me check my drivers and such and referred me to this forum for help.
