Question / Help LGHD and OBS Issues

So i have narrowed down audio issues I am having with my LGHD and OBS. My current settup is Xbox One > LGHD > DVI Adapter > Monitor. The reason for the adapter is due to my monitor being 144Hz and I dont get a signal when doing HDMI pass through from the LGHD. But If I connected straight into my monitor from the Xbox then it works, not sure why that is.

Anyways, I seem to be having issues with HDMI pass through. When I am passing through to my monitor then no audio shows up in OBS. On occasion it will work though. If I disconnect the HDMI to DVI connector from the monitor then the audio starts working in OBS. I am confused on what is going on here. Has anyone ran into this? Is it my monitor? ASUS VG24QE is my monitor I am trying to use.

It might be that the DVI is causing your LGHD to not "request/accept" the audio from your console. Since through DVI you cannot send Audio. You might want to contact Avermedia though, ask them if they know why you cannot use the HDMI passthrough with the 144Hz monitor.

I sent in a support ticket so hopefully I get some good news. But I don't understand why this would cancel out audio, maybe just how it is coded.

However do you think a HDMI splitter could work here? From Xbox to monitor. And Xbox to HDMI In of LGHD, but have no HDMI Out on LGHD? If it could work is there any delay in video transmission of the HDMI splitter? How much video quality is lost by splitting?

Another idea I cam up with would be to get one of those adapaters that can split the audio of the HDMI. That way I can send 3.5mm from HDMI to Audio In on LGHD, Then Audio out of LGHD to my computer??

Any other ideas?

With a good splitter (not necessarily too expensive) you have no delay and no quality loss at all. It might fix the problem, but I cannot guarantee it but it sounds like a good idea.
