Question / Help LF Black Screen Laptop Assistance

Hello, I'm looking for some assistance in regards to streaming on a laptop with dual graphics card.

I did read the thread in the stickied section above.

Part of the problem I seem to having is that I have the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 and then a dedicated Geforce GT 755M.

The game I'm trying to stream is League of Legends. What ends up happening is on both OBS and xSplit, I try to stream it under Game Capture and it ends up giving me a black screen. When I try to run it under windowed mode or borderless window it runs fine but I experience a severe drop in FPS.

Is there any way to run the stream under Full Screen mode?

Also I did make it so both OBS and League of Legends runs under the same graphics card (the geforce one) but the problem still continues.

Thanks for any help.

You didn't completely follow the instructions in the laptop sticky thread. You need to make sure both versions of OBS.exe are set to run on the nVidia card. That log shows you using the wrong GPU.

Hi,

what do you mean by both versions of obs.exe

I went into Nvidia control panel and went under obs.exe and made sure it ran under the Geforce graphics card.

The laptop sticky thread explains that there are 2 versions of OBS, the 32bit and 64bit version. The 32bit version is in C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS and the 64bit version is in C:\Program Files\OBS. Make sure you set both versions to run on the nVidia.

Sorry im sort of a noob at this.

I'm trying to find both the 32 and 64 but in my program folders it only has one OBS.exe file.

Also do you happen to have a skype or something?

thanks for all the help so far

actually never mind I found both the 32 and the 64 but it was already set to the NVIDIA Geforce.

I tried streaming again and still it only works for windowed/borderless

That is an incomplete log...Can you do a test stream, then restart OBS, then post the latest log?

Actually it's running on the right GPU, the first session may report intel despite running on the nvidia -- you can see in the second session that it runs on the nvidia. Very annoying, but still, it's the nvidia. It says it captured the second time though.

Did you set the 'global' nvidia control panels settings to run on the nvidia? I'm wondering if the game itself is running on the right GPU or not. You're not trying to capture the lobby with game capture are you? I don't know if that's hte lobby or not. I can't quite remember.

If what you mean is making sure both of them (32x and 64x) run under the Nvidia, then yea I did that. If not, tell me what I need to do.

and I'm not trying to capture the lobby, I made sure it captures the in-game client.

I've seen other laptop users with dual graphics card streams on full screen, so if someone could help me via remote assistance or skype or possibly, that could be great too.

The game is running on nvidia as well. I also tried to set both the obs and league on integrated HD graphics but it didnt work.

It seems like it's capturing in the log file. You're not trying to gauge whether it's working by alt-tabbing out of the game are you? Because when you alt-tab out of the game, game capture won't be able to capture anymore, and it'll go black, so basically game capture will only work when you're actually alt-tabbed in to the game. Just have to check that first because there are people who have made that mistake before.

But unfortunately if you still get black screen it means either misconfiguration of game capture or misconfiguration of adapters. It's possible something strange is going on as well, but I never see this problem as long as those things are configured correctly.

What ends up happening when I alt-tab out is the game is being streamed on obs but it freezes whenever i alt-tab on full screen.

When i alt-tab on windowed mode, then i can see the stream running continuosly.

The way I checked it was I went to twitch broadcast to see if it ran correctly.
