Bug Report Latest update breaks Dazzle DVC100

Hi there

For the past year, I've been trying to configure OBS to capture from my Dazzle DVC100, mainly because it appears to be the only software that natively supports it. As of the recent patch 0.583b, the Dazzle image no longer shows up, yet I get audio just fine. Before these recent updates, I had no problem with streaming Dazzle, both video and audio.

I tried the usual methods of deleting the scene, closing OBS and reloading it. Linking the crossbar of Video Composite In/Out and Audio In/Out is working, but OBS only seems to want to output sound and no picture.

Any advice is appreciated in solving this issue :)

Many thanks
- Sajuuk

EDIT: After playing around, I did manage to get this to happen:

But this is all I'm getting. If you want to know my Dazzle set up (for how I have it connected up to PC from the console etc), let me know and I'll post it. Strangely, the same set up was working just fine on a previous version (can't remember which one it was)

Just wanted to say that I uninstalled the latest version of OBS, then downloaded and installed OBS 0.50b, which is currently capturing both audio and video streams of the Dazzle without a problem. This needs to be looked into, as I cannot upgrade at all to any newer versions of OBS because this is the only streaming software that can stream my Dazzle (XSplit is too expensive to bother with, nor can it link the two together. YouTube's suggested software don't work and crash).

My guess is that you had the resolution and/or FPS settings wrong in the capture source in 0.583. I know there are plenty of people using Dazzles in the latest version of OBS just fine.

I was using the exact same settings, as they were preserved throughout the upgrades. I never used custom resolutions with Dazzle as there was no need to do so, plus Dazzle only accepts a frame rate of 24fps anyway.

Except it doesn't, and you're at fault for assuming so. The Dazzle supports two refresh rates, which are 25 fps (PAL) and 29.97 fps (NTSC). No wonder it doesn't work if you're specifying an improper frame rate.

There really is no need to be rude just because I'm wrong......
Stop saying I'm applying an improper frame rate, because I use the Dazzle a lot and everything I've recorded with it through Pinnacle Studio is at 24fps.
I'll try the new version again, but as I said, OBS 0.50b worked just fine with Dazzle with no changes to the custom resolution: after updating to 0.52b, with again NO changes to the settings, it stopped working. That implies a fault in the software, not how I configured it.

Pinnacle Studio is for DVD recording, and DVD footage runs at 24 frames per second, so of course it would record at that. Also, I was not being rude, but someone had to point out your faulty assumptions at one point or another.

The reason it worked in 0.50 was most likely because it primarily matched the input mode by resolution, and not necessarily by frame rate. If anything, the way it worked in 0.50 was wrong, and the way it works now is how it should be.
