Question / Help Laptop WebCam on Desktop - Possible?

I have a laptop with a 720p webcam and I wish to have the possibility of using all this definition, but I want to stream from my desktop pc and use the webcam from the laptop. Since I don't want to waste internet speed with the lan sharing that is used in webcamXP for example, I would like to know if there is some way I could do it with cables, and if there is, how, because connecting a HDMI cable from notebook to desktop is not making any one of them recognize each other as something lika a second monitor.

Nope. Network-shared cam software is pretty much your only option. The HDMI port on your laptop is (most likely) for video OUT; they are not bidirectional.

On the up side, a webcam should use up only a tiny fraction of the bandwidth on your LAN, and none of your WAN (outside internet) bandwidth at all, if it's designed in a sane manner. The bigger problem is that you'll have a good bit more delay on the camera, and potentially have variable delay, making it very difficult to get (and keep) your voice audio synchronized with the cam video.

Better idea, buy a cheap crappy $20 webcam somewhere and use that.
Best idea, grab a Logitech c920 when they're on sale on Amazon this upcoming Black Friday for about $40-50.
