Hello,

I understand the title may not reflect what is in this text box, however, I will try my best to convey my concern.

I am looking to stream in the best possibly settings that my laptop allows. Currently, I have a Lenovo Y500 laptop:
  • Intel i5 3230m
  • 6GB of RAM
  • nVIDIA GeForce GT 650 SLI
  • 1920x1080 screen resolution
Here are my Speed test results for my Internet: http://www.speedtest.net/result/4192341207.png

I have an Elgato Game Capture HD for console streaming. However, the Elgato software doesn't allow watermarks, screen transitions, etc. Therefore I use OBS to stream using the Elgato hardware.

My Elgato GameCap HD settings are:
  • 720p on BEST QUALITY (1280x720p Progressive, 15.0 Mbps / 114MB/min)
  • HDMI Color range is expanded, not standard
  • Profile is HD 720
  • Preserve Source Format is checked
  • Stretch Standard Definition Input is not
My Encoding settings in OBS are:
  • x264 | Use CBR
  • Max Bitrate: 3000
  • Quality Balance: 8
  • Base Resolution: 1280x720p
  • Resolution Downscale: None (1280x720)
  • Filter: Bilinear (fastest)
  • FPS: 30
  • Use Multithread Optimizations: Checked
  • Process Priority Class: Normal
  • Scene buffering time: 700ms
  • Video: x264 CPU preset: Veryfast
  • Encoding Profile: Main
  • Keyframe Interval: 2 seconds
  • Use CFR: Checked

Everything else is left on default. All help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

it all depends on the game tbf
if its cpu intensive game your cpu may not be able to keep up with both tasks
if its not you might be fine

best thing is to test , tweek and retest
