Question / Help Laggy stream

Whenever I stream the stream is laggy and the game sort of is.. I just want to know what I should look into first...
Like, upgrade something on the computer? Or the internet speed.. My download speed is 18-19 mbs, upload is 1.... ping is usually 26, but whenever I stream it's laggy.. I don't know what to change or what to do to fix this, or if I should just change some settings.

- Downscale your stream resolution, 1600x900 is probably a bit high for your CPU, and won't look good with your bandwidth limitations anyway.

- If you only have 1 Mbps of upload bandwidth you can't use all of it for your stream, you need to leave some for other programs like the game you're playing. Lower your max bitrate to 600 or 700 and try again. If you still get a high ping ingame, go to Settngs > Broadcast Settings and check the "minimize network impact" box.

That's exactly what it's based on, and you want to leave that set as your base resolution. However streaming at that resolution is going to be a little hard on your CPU, so you can use the downscaling function to output a lower resolution to your stream.

ohhh ok I understand now, didn't realize the two options earlier.. haha. Thanks for taking the time and explaining it to me, I will try to get everything kinda running and see what happens. Now, if I wanted better quality, what would be the first to upgrade? The upload speed or something in my laptop?

More upstream bandwidth could help a lot, but upgrading your laptop isn't really an option.

Your stream's bitrate has one of the biggest effects on its quality. The higher the bitrate the more bits can be allocated to each frame, which directly results in a higher quality image and fewer compression artifacts.
