Hi guys.
I've started streaming a few weeks back with a friend of mine, and we have some issue using nginx and obs. I don't know where exactly is the issue, so I'm not sure this is the good place to post. I'm a kind of googling man before asking for help, but this time I can't figure out by my own...
We'll start with the setup :
We are co-streaming games and we switch our view-point depending on the situation.
- 1st : Nginx's laptop ==> receive my stream and my friend's. I also use it as a second monitor to watch my twitch channel (chat).
I've followed the few guides to set it up, I'll give the .conf if needed, but it's basically a copy/paste, with some allowing/denying stuff. I use the port 8080 instead of 1935 because I was suspecting a conflict with flashplayer (twitch), but there's not...
- 2nd : My friend's gaming PC ==> He sends his stream via OBS to the server :
7000 kb/s bitrate (his upload max is around 10 Mb/s)
720p/60
- 3rd : My gaming PC ==> Sends a stream via OBS to the server (using nvenc) :
15000 kb/s bitrate (LAN)
720p/60
This one also stream directly to twitch, using this time x264 (OBS-MP) :
2000 kb/s (around 7 Mb/s upload)
720p/30
Our gaming PC configs are practically the same :
GTX 970
i5
win 8.1 for me, win 7 for my friend
I'm using source media as only scenes in OBS-MP. I'm using this to synchronize the two streams, instead of just importing his stream into my OBS classic.
Now, the issue :
After a certain time of streaming (random), one of the streams will have huge lag problems. For example, yesterday, after just 30minutes my stream started to lag, then after reconnecting it, no problem for the next 4 hours... (by the way, there's an issue with the audio, when sending the video after OBS-MP was launched, I'll post in the appropriate section if I manage to reproduce the bug everytime). The day before, the same thing happened to my friend's stream, after 2h.
I'm far for being an expert in nginx's using, so maybe I forgot something important.
I must clarify that we don't have any problem when streaming directly to twitch individually.
I'm not sure someone could help me with this, if not, I'll deal with it. Having live "technical issue" is just not really viewer-friendly :)
Anyway, thanks a lot for this wonderful software !
Both logs of yesterday's session :
Mine : https://gist.github.com/ec6837cdceb28277f317
My friend's : https://gist.github.com/33a61885aa8571b8b433
I don't see anything unexpected (bitrate is obviously too high, but both or ISP could handle it).
If someone could tell me what exactly is the Hook conflict (I think of Skype overlay, or steam's).
