Hello,

I have a i7-4790k and a GTX 980Ti and 16GB of Ram. When I try to stream BF4, I get 40fps in game. What is going on?

Please post a logfile from the Help menu. Just post the link to it here. We'll be able to give better advice after seeing the logfile which will tell us your settings, as well as more of what is going on, on the back end.

Being fair, BF4 is pretty well-known for being poorly optimized and CPU-hungry as a result. EA "quality" at work.

Don't stream over Wifi. It's designed for lightweight mobile use, not as a replacement for running cables. It's very prone to disruption and interference, especially for minimum-constant-rate throughput crucial applications like livestreaming. In some cases USB adapters seem to cause 'bus jams' where the OS is stuck waiting for I/O, which can disrupt other processes.

You also really don't want to stream at 3500kbps unless you're a Partnered streamer. Many of your viewers will buffer. 720p@30fps, 2000kbps is the 'golden point' for non-partnered streams.

With how inexplicably CPU-heavy BF4 is, streaming at 60fps appears to be overwhelming your system; you're duplicating a bunch of frames as well, which suggests this too.

I know my system is capable of streaming BF4 because RussianPaladin on twitch has the same system I do but with the 980 and he gets 90-100 fps on ultra.

He's also a Partnered streamer, uses a different OS, and may be running a more optimized/streamlined software setup.

Having two of the same parts in the system does not mean you'll have the same performance.

I also have this problem it started up on Saturday. Before that i could stream BF4 no problem on OBS. Now it lags out my game to stream. I do not stream on wifi either. I have a newer computer to. i7-4790k, GTX 980, 16gb of RAM. First time I have run into any problem with streaming.

Yes he did, you just choose to ignore it.
Anyway, what's the process priority of obs set to in the advanced settings?
