Question / Help itunes out of sync from other audio when using VAC as input

Just noticed this the other night when I was watching a vod, sometimes I tap keys on the keyboard along with music during down time and look really dumb when i'm tapping half a second after the note. This started happening when I started using Reaper and VAC...

made a couple videos showing what was happening (sorry about the low quality but the audio is the important part)

VAC incurs a certain amount of processing delay. Especially if you use a more convoluted or complex config. Not really much to do about it, other than not use VAC.
Likewise, any software ASP stack is going to have the same problem to a greater or lesser degree. Why most real-time events stick with hardware audio stacks. If you're using Reaper as a VST host (even just for basic EQ or de-noise), it's going to change your offset.
