Question / Help Issues with text files and text sources

Hi,
i been using OBS ever since i started streaming and the program has been great. I am currently doing a 24 days of giveaways on my stream. I have two basic text sources that i put up during my stream. One displays the keyword used in the giveaway and the other displays the game being given away. Now as the keyword stays the same during the stream and only changes per day that one isn't so bad but still causes an issue. But when ever i try to update the text file or text being displayed the source becomes broken and i have to redo the source each time.
Ive tried setting the source as a global source which didnt work as well as using both standard text or using a text file.

Ok so when i create a source from text or a text file i get whatever i want scrlling across the screen. However if i update those files or text which some new words the source doesnt show anything. No scrolling words in fact it shows nothing. No matter how many different setting or options i change to get it to com back it wont. The only fix is to delete the source and keep re-adding it.

So let me just see if I am understanding this correctly:

You add text via file, displays fine, but every time the file changes, it erases everything. Going back into the text source to reinitialize everything fixes it? Or do you have to actually have to delete/add the source again with the same file?

Sorry this is hard for me to explain.

If the file changes the source becomes broken and all text does not get displayed. Deleting the source and re-adding it with the updated text file works. This is also the case for just using text instead of a text file. If the the text in the text field gets updated (which it does for me at least regularly) then the source becomes broken and i have to delete and re-add it with the updated text.

If you were to, say, use a text file from your desktop with it, and then preview that text, and then modify/save that text, would it update? I'm confused because the text source doesn't have any known issue with updating from files right now.

The only cases I could see a potential problem occurring is if the program updating the text is doing it too fast, or holding on to the file for too long exclusively preventing OBS from being able to read it, or if the text file contains a non-UTF8 encoding.

Ok so i figured a few things out with the text file issues im having.
Currently i have to files i use. 1 displays the days keyword for the giveaways i do and only gets updated once a day. the second displays the game in the current giveaway and gets updated for each giveaway we do.
The way i seem to be able to get around the issue is to active the source, update the text file and then deactivate the source. If i try to update the text file before the the source is active thats what seems to break the source.
