Hi, I am going to preface my post with an apology - I am brand new to streaming and all that comes with it: OBS, capture cards, audio mixing… so please bear with me.
Anyway, my issue is that OBS is not registering game audio when using the chat link pro. If I unplug it then OBS picks up the game audio just fine.
Here is my set up for more information: I have a PC and two monitors. I am using the Elgato HD 60X capture card that came with the Elgato chat link pro. I have the Wave:3 mic that is being registered by OBS just fine. As I mentioned whenever I use the chat link pro OBS does not register any of the game audio. I can hear it just fine in my headphones so I know this issue is with the chat link pro. I should also mention that while I have a Switch and a PS5 I have only so far attempted using the Switch - I don’t know if I will have the same issue on PS5 but would assume they’d be the same and am only focusing on trying to get one console working properly before setting up the next.
Things I’ve tried: I did change the capture card settings to analog as necessary with the chat link pro. It made no difference, but I know the setting saved correctly because I lost all gameplay audio even without the chat link pro which reverted if I switched it back to HDMI.
I did try creating a separate audio source for the capture card in OBS per recommendation from other users. This didn’t change anything. I also tried plugging the chat link pro into the computer rather than directly into the capture card. This didn’t change anything. I confirmed I was plugging the chat link pro into the proper corresponding jacks and even tried reversing them for the sake of trying everything. It didn’t work.
I have been in touch with Elgato support and they are both very slow to respond and also just not very helpful. I am at a point where I have no idea what to do from here. I don’t want to give up - I have thus far spent a lot of time and money on getting this all put together, and I have wanted to start a stream for a long time and am feeling quite dismayed.
Edit: I just saw the sticky regarding log files. I apologize. When I am back home I will load everything up and attempt to get a log file to add to the post.
