Question / Help Isn't OBS Supposed to record audio?

When I had OBS on my laptop, it used to record the audio playing. Now I have a new computer, and no audio is playing. What can I do to fix this?

Be sure that the games audio runs on the standard output device

The problem likely isn't OBS, but instead the media player you're using to test your recordings.

Try with VLC.

Harold, thanks for the help. That actually worked. Now I know never to trust default windows 10 media players.

Windows media player has a 15+ year history of bad media format support.
Microsoft renaming it to "Films and TV" doesn't help that history.
