Question / Help Is there a limit to mic Boost?

So I just got a mic, and tried to test stream with mic + pc game.

It was very hard for me to hear my mic sound because of game sound. So I assume mic boost will increase the mic sound, but is there a certain threshold where it is not recommended to go above?

Also, 'the volume control' right above 'Start streaming' button, will this ONLY decrease my game volume sound if I decrease that to like 80% or 70%?

there should be 2 volume controls on your main window, one for your microphone and one for the windows sound (what you hear) which includes pretty much everything else, except for audio gained through a video device when set to "output to stream only". both of them can be boosted by a multiplier in the audio settings. i don't think theres a limit to the multiplier, but you should definitely not go crazy. test the audio volume as you slowly increase the multiplier

ok, so the two sound controls on the main screen are microphone audio and windows sound. So if I decrease windows sound, it doesnt decrease microphone sound when I stream.

Have a question about:

when you say 'video device', you mean device such as microphone right?
"output to stream only", is there such option in OBS or are you just saying it is fine as long as i dont hear myself speaking when I record?

video device would be something like a webcam or a game capture card for consoles, they often come with sound associated with them. however according to what you said so far this is not the case for you and you probably don't need to worry about this.

if you just play and live stream from the same pc you should be totally fine.
