My computer barely handles streaming with OBS, and I was wondering what the best tweaks I could do are.
I capture at 1080 because it's my monitor's native resolution and use the 3.00 downscale. I wouldn't mind streaming at a lower resolution and was wondering if I can force 4.00 downscale.
Related question is if the 1080 source is really killing my fps - like if I capture at 1280x720 instead but use less downscale, (making the output resolution the same), how big a difference would that lower source resolution make, relatively speaking?
Same question regarding x264 encoder preset, (VeryFast, SuperFast, UltraFast), relatively speaking how much does it affect performance? And I read that slower presets will allow for the bitrate to be set lower, so does a higher bitrate negate the negative effect of a faster preset and how much higher should it be?
Same question but, how about bitrate? Does higher bitrate mean more work for my system, or less work? Of course I know the quality will change but it's a performance problem I have and I would like to start with tweaks that will have the least impact on quality while having the greatest impact on performance.
CPU: AMD 2.4GHz Dual-Core Opteron 180
RAM: 2GB
Thank you very much!
